Bachata socials and festivals operate on rotating-partner etiquette: leaders and followers swap throughout each song or class drill, so single dancers are the norm rather than the exception. Arrive 30-60 minutes before your first class to register, pick up your wristband, and scout the venue. Evening socials at Bachaturo typically start with a beginner lesson at 8:00-9:00 PM and run past 2:00 AM — the floor is busiest from 11:00 PM onward. Most dancers eat dinner before arriving and use venue bars for drinks only.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you can move freely in, and shoes with smooth soles so you can pivot without sticking. Dance sneakers, jazz shoes, or leather-soled dress shoes all work; gym sneakers grip too hard. Bring water and a small towel — bachata is a contact dance and one hour of dancing is the cardiovascular equivalent of a 5K run.
