Privacy Policy

Short version: FindBachata does not require an account, does not ask for your name, email, or any personal details to browse, and does not sell data. We do use third-party analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. The longer version is below.

Who we are

FindBachata (findbachata.com) is operated by DevMellio. For any privacy question, use the contact page.

What we do not collect

  • We do not require accounts. There is no public sign-up.
  • We do not ask for your name, email, address, or phone number to browse.
  • We do not sell your data to anyone.
  • We do not run advertising networks or behavioral ad targeting.

What we do collect

We use a small number of third-party services to keep the site running and understand how it is used:

Google Analytics 4

Aggregated, anonymized traffic analytics: which pages you visit, how long you stay, what country you are in (city-level at most), and what device / browser you use. GA4 sets cookies in your browser. Data is governed by Google’s privacy policy.

Microsoft Clarity

Anonymous session recordings and heatmaps to identify usability problems. Clarity automatically masks form input and we do not collect form data on this site anyway. Data is governed by Microsoft’s privacy policy.

CloudFront + AWS

Standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent) are kept temporarily by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention. We do not use them for marketing.

Browser local storage

The chat-style search keeps your last 24 hours of conversation in your browser’s local storage so it survives a refresh. This data never leaves your device. You can clear it from your browser settings or by using the “Clear” button in the chat panel.

AI chat queries

Questions you type into the chat are sent to our backend for processing and to a third-party AI provider (Google Gemini) to generate the answer. We log the question text for up to 30 days for quality monitoring and to build the daily top-questions report. We do not associate questions with you personally; we have no account system to associate them with.

How long we keep data

  • GA4 analytics: 14 months (Google’s default).
  • Clarity recordings: 30 days.
  • CloudFront logs: 30 days.
  • AI chat question logs: 30 days.
  • Local storage chat history: 24 hours, in your browser only.

Your choices

  • Disable analytics cookies: use your browser’s “block third-party cookies” setting, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Use the site without the chat: all browsing, search, and event detail pages work without the chat panel. The chat is optional.
  • Clear local data: in your browser, clear site data for findbachata.com.

Children

FindBachata is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Bachata events listed on the site are operated by their respective organizers, who are responsible for their own age policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page for at least 14 days.
