Do I need to bring a partner?

No partner is required at BachaMe IX. Bachata socials and festivals operate on rotating-partner etiquette: leaders and followers swap throughout each song or class drill, so single dancers are the norm rather than the exception. Showing up alone is one of the fastest ways to expand your bachata community.

What time should I arrive?

Arrive 30-60 minutes before your first class to register, pick up your wristband, and scout the venue. Evening socials at BachaMe IX typically start with a beginner lesson at 8:00-9:00 PM and run past 2:00 AM — the floor is busiest from 11:00 PM onward. Most dancers eat dinner before arriving and use venue bars for drinks only.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you can move freely in, and shoes with smooth soles so you can pivot without sticking. Dance sneakers, jazz shoes, or leather-soled dress shoes all work; gym sneakers grip too hard. Bring water and a small towel — bachata is a contact dance and one hour of dancing is the cardiovascular equivalent of a 5K run.
